Water Scarcity
A study by Mesfin Mekonnen and Arjen Hoekstra of the University of Twente in the Netherlands finds that 4 billion people experience severe water scarcity at least one month per year (half of whom live in India or China). One half billion experience scarcity year round. These numbers are higher than previous estimates.
